It’s been like forever since I’ve posted here on Tween Parenting! So hello again, and happy 2019! I’m hoping to be a regular here on the website so expect more updates on fun activities for tweens this year. I’ve been pretty focused on my other website, The Moments at Home, and my ideas for tween-aged kids have been stacking up. I’m dusting them off starting now!
What We’ve Been Up To Lately
My tweens have been enjoying winter break away from school and sports. Dance competition season is about to begin and swim team is doing monthly meets. My son has been whining about the cold weather here in the evenings after swim practice which is laughable because we’re in southern California. It really doesn’t get cold here. Just a bit chilly. My up and coming tween is starting his first year of baseball this spring! I’m super excited to compare my experience dance moms, swim moms, and baseball moms. Maybe I’ll blog about it. And big news! The tweens have started their own Instagram named These Kids Review, so be sure to give them a follow along with us here at Tween Parenting. Apparently Instagram is a thing so I should probably make more effort over there. 😉
So what can you expect this year on Tween Parenting? I don’t want to make promises I can’t keep but…here are some fun ideas I’ve been working on:
Printable I Spy Worksheets
Each month I’ll be sharing a new themed printable I Spy worksheet for tweens just like I do on The Moments at Home. They’re free for subscribers! Subscribing is free and you’ll get email blasts to your inbox whenever I get around to sending them. No email for a month? Two in one month? You never know…I never know. It’s a surprise for us both.
Crafts for Tweens
I’m a #crafter, a #maker, a #diyer, or whatever you want to call it when someone enjoys creating. My kids are too so expect some fun crafty posts like easy sewing projects, art tutorials, and decor ideas. Maybe comic book creation, science projects and slime. Maybe.
Books for Tweens
We love to read in this house. Some more than others but I’m working on that. My son LOVES books and he’ll be recommending his favorites throughout the year. My daughter likes books, and she’ll be recommending a few of her favorites during the year too, but on a less frequent basis. If I find time to read, I’ll share parenting books.
That’s a wrap! Enjoy your new year and be sure to give us a follow on Instagram!
